I've read the whole thread here as well as a pair of How-To sites and I can't get this to work. I have no idea what it was that I was tapping in to. Eveything else looks like a normal d15b vtec. Get a length of wire and jump to the 12v in the fuse box. This reving thing is gonna get on my nerves! Hope i could help Good luck with the Rex! I'm all in on the solenoid itself or its wiring, so checking it won't be hard. Check the rear of your intake manifold driver side for the code, from your description, its probably P08. With the P08 head, there is no econo mode to enter into. I replied to a similar topic just a few days ago. The First time I did this I grounded my light to the screw that holds the glove box on. However, I've gotten pretty decent at cutting and splicing wires. Now take your timing light and connect it using the alligator clips to your battery, and the hall effect magnetic clip to the number 1 spark plug wire.Next
I'd hate to do that and not have it be the culprit, though. Familiarize yourself with the most common problems, and be ready to get your engine running again. On the track, my guess about needing new O2 sensors was correct for code 2. My oil pressure is perfect and has never had a low reading since I've owned my car. At this point, looks like my solenoid is faulty. Please be sure to test all of your wires with a digital multimeter before making any connections.
Am I out of the woods or might the solenoid valve act up again upon doing some hard driving? Indeed ecu throws engine check lights, but for Crankshaft Sensor and some other obd2 stuff since engine is obd1 here as far as i know. If a P08 is cheaper, go for it. Although it went off after stopping, it came back on during my next run. Haven't heard back from you in a few days. You will probably solve code 38 but will get code 21 by switching the wires as mentioned in the 3rd para. I had a funny hunch about that. I'd sure like to verify that before buying a new one or just the two components Larry suggested.Next
There are 2 segments of the system: the spool valve 9 and the feedback sensor 14. The middle mark on the timing cover is 16 degrees before top dead center and is the base timing that is called for by Honda. Rotate the distributor while watching the timing marks. What do you specifically suggest? You don't wanna come back to this after you are done! My question is, does the valve just need to be removed, cleaned and reinstalled or replaced? This information outlines the wires location, color and polarity to help you identify the proper connection spots in the vehicle. I already told him how to check it very quickly and easily by applying 12v in my previous post. If they're not computer speakers and you want to wire component speakers through your computer, you'll need a receiver to power them, speaker wire to go from your speakers to the receiver, and a… your original wiring for the radio is all there including the connectors! The Econo light lights up in the 12-valve mode. And no one understands shit about ecus. Hopefully, this was something you already had done and posted from your computer files. I've got moderate acceleration up to that point, then it zooms forward. Noone gave me any metrics, so I presume this is a go, no-go type of reading using an ohm meter to check the solenoid, correct? Replacing the gaskets was one possible corrective measure. They should be relatively affordable compared to P08s and P28s. Now once you wire is connected just check your connection and make sure everything is cool! A jerking sensation can turn a fun driving experience into an embarrassing one. S--- Make sure when that you have the firing order set properly as well form when you changed the distributor cap. .
